Skilled Worker UK Visa Changes: April 2024

A new Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules has been published on 14 March 2024 outlining upcoming changes to the Skilled Worker visa route.

The changes primarily concern steps to reduce net migration by raising the general salary threshold to £38,700, while bringing salary requirements for individual occupations in line with median pay for resident workers, and replacing the Shortage Occupation List with a new Immigration Salary List.

As from 11 March 2024, care workers will no longer be able to bring dependants to the UK and for those with a working location in England, their sponsor must hold registration with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and be carrying on a regulated activity.
